Lisa Bourque (b.2000) is an emerging artist born in Fort McMurray and living in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta). Working primarily in oil painting, her works are the act of rebuilding and imagining celestial lived spaces to house cherished figures and objects. Sourcing from local donated memorabilia, she alters and depicts her subjects to explore themes of care and contemplation. Drawing ideas from personal memory, the mundane, and prayer items, Lisa creates environments where her subjects exist in a realm in-between; alone and to be sheltered.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta. Her works have been shown in Meet the Family at Family Drugs Gallery (2026), Art is for Everyone at The Art Gallery of Alberta (2025), Schmoozy at Latitude 53 (2024), I don’t know how, but I’m taller at FAB gallery (2023), the CARFAC artWORK/netWORK exhibition in Edmonton (2022), as well as at the New York Academy of Art summer residency exhibition in New York City (2022). She is a recipient of the Livia Stoyke Foundation Best in Show award as well as the New York Academy of Art Scholar award.
